Environmental Management Systems

Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001:2015)

Are you ready for the transition to the 2015 standard, we work closely with Senior Management through training in the requirements of the new standards, facilitating Workshops to ensure that the environmental objectives are aligned to the business objectives, identify any interested parties, their needs and expectations and any internal and external issues to conduct a risk based assessment on their potential to affect the organisation achieving its business objectives and planned outcomes.

Picture illustrating a five step approach to Environmental ManagementAn Environmental Management System (EMS) is a structured framework for managing an organisation’s significant environmental impacts. A well planned structured approach to reducing environmental impacts of a business will increase operating efficiency and reduce costs resulting in increased profitability. The environmental impacts can vary between organisations, but typically but not exclusively focus on:

  • Reducing Waste
  • Reducing consumption of scarce resources such as
    • Water
    • Energy
    • Raw Materials
  • Regulatory and Customer compliance

One new rrequirements exclusive to the EMS is a consideration of the life cycle impact of the activities under the control of the organisation and the need for both internal and external communications policy.

Having previously established and implemented the ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System Standard in our client companies, we have already succeeded in transitioning some of our clients to the 2015 standard.  If you are looking for a competitive advantage over your internal or external competitors, we can help you by improving your companies green and sustainability credentials.
